**SATURDAY JANUARY 20, 2024** 

Future of Dance | 2100 Proctor Rd | Sarasota, FL

 

 

2:30-4:00 pm: Levels III/IV (ages 11+)

4:30-6:00 pm: Levels I/II (ages 6-9)

 

 

Synopsis: Join us on a magical journey with Alice as she travels through her dreams into Wonderland.  This classic tale has been reimagined and is set in a 1959, where Alice and her young sister find themselves in a Children’s Home in New York City.  As she tucks her sister into her bed in their new ‘home’ she  reads her a story about the joyous wonders of childhood.  As she drifts to sleep, she is met by an energetic White Rabbit who joins her guides her through the many lands of Wonderland.  She meets many intriguing beings along the way who teach her the power of love.She returns to her ‘home’ with a new spark in her heart that ignites  those around her, reminding them of the true meaning of life…to love one another. 

 

 

Rehearsals: All rehearsals will be held on Saturdays from 4-7 pm and select Sundays between February and June. Not all cast members will be called every weekend and a rehearsal schedule will be published in advance.  Cast members will be asked to provide conflicts on the audition application although we  may not be able to work around all conflicts.

 

Requirements: Students must be at least 6 years old and be in a Level I class or above and enrolled in a dance class at Future of Dance throughout the duration of the show season. Students must demonstrate a willingness to learn, a love for dance and a generous spirit.   Female dancers should wear a black leotard and skin colored tights to auditions with hair in a bun or clean ponytail.  Male dancers should wear black shirts and black shorts or pants.  Please bring all dance shoes, including tap shoes.  Students may be asked to sing “Happy Birthday.”

 

Performance Dates & Location: June 15, 2024 @ Riverside High School Theater in Sarasota. 

Ensemble participation fees: $200 production fee/member, $100 per costume/role or dance.

 

Students will be cast in a maximum of one main role and 3 dance ensemble roles.
