The Future of Dance Ensemble is a select group of pre-professional students who perform throughout the year to spread their love and joy of dance to the community.

Audition for the HAPPIEST SHOW ON EARTH! Santa’s Frosty Follies is a 25 minute touring holiday spectacular that has brought joy to audiences of all ages for the past 30 years! Join Frosty, Rudolph, Suzy Snowflake and their friends as they spread holiday cheer throughout the Greater Sarasota area!

Audition Date: Saturday, September 13 @ Future of Dance
Audition Times
4PM-4:30 PM: Jazz I
4:30PM-5:30 PM: Jazz II + III
5:30PM-6:30PM: Jazz IV + V

*Dancers may be asked to stay for an additional audition outside of their scheduled time slot. They will be informed prior to leaving if they are needed to stay.
Audition Requirements

Must be enrolled in a jazz class at Future of Dance in order to audition

Must be 6 years old to audition

Must have strong dance technique and performance quality

Please wear a black leotard, skin colored tights, black jazz shoes and hair in a classical ballet bun or ponytail.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals will be held every Saturday from 4PM-7PM, beginning September 28. Not all dancers will be called to every rehearsal. A cast list and detailed rehearsal schedule will be provided ASAP. Please be mindful that our first performance is Thanksgiving weekend. All rehearsals are mandatory. Participation in this performance is a commitment and requires your dedication. Missing rehearsals causes great disruption to the other dancers and artistic staff.

Participation Fee​
PARTICIPATION FEE: $200 (includes costume rental)
DISNEY PARTICIPATION: $250 (fundraising options will be available)

Once Upon a Nutcracker is returning to Future of Dance this holiday season! This is our very own abbreviated version of the classic tale! Join Clara and her friends as we travel through the land of the snow and into the land of the sweets to meet the Nutcracker of her dreams! Please read the following for important audition, rehearsal, and performance information.
Audition Date: Sunday, September 14 @ Future of Dance
Audition Times
1:00 PM-1:30 PM: Ballet I
1:30 PM-2:30 PM: Ballet II
2:30 PM-3:30 PM: Ballet III and Ballet IV
3:30 PM-5:00 PM: Ballet V
*Dancers may be asked to stay for an additional audition outside of their scheduled time slot. They will be informed at the end of their scheduled call time if they are needed to stay.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals will be held every Sunday between 1PM and 5PM, beginning September 21st. A detailed rehearsal schedule with your student's specific rehearsal dates and times will be provided once casting is posted.

Full cast run through - Sunday, November 16th
Studio Dress Rehearsal - Sunday, November 23rd.
Full Cast Run Through - Friday, November 28 and/or Saturday, November 29
Additional rehearsals may be added as needed. Please be aware that our first performance is Thanksgiving weekend. All rehearsals are mandatory unless previously discussed and approved. Participation in this performance is a commitment and requires your dedication. Missing rehearsals causes great disruption to the other dancers and artistic staff. If a dancer is unable to attend a rehearsal due to illness, please email tracey@futureofdance.org.
